Adobe Connect

Go Beyond Web Conferencing

Resource Type: Webinar Platform
Supported by: IT Sligo

Software used to create information and general presentations, online training materials, web conferencing, learning modules, webinars, and user desktop sharing. All meeting rooms are organized into ‘pods’; with each pod performing a specific role.

Recommended by our Digital Champions:
Adobe Connect is used by staff in IT Sligo to deliver our live online lectures. We also use it for online meetings regularly. The features built in allow for added engagement during lectures such as polls, quizzes and breakout rooms. You can record from within the platform and view stats on when students logged in/out. Hosts can share documents, their screen and webcam simultaneously. A chat function is provided or you can give students microphone rights. Students can also login from any device. Some training is required, but as with most software the more you use Adobe Connect and experiment the more comfortable you become with it.
