The Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology, Institute of Technology, Sligo and Letterkenny Institute of Technology are in the process of transitioning to a new Technological University for the West and North-West of Ireland. This series of events (Nov. 9, 11, 16, 18 and 23) will explore the synergies and opportunities that this transition presents from a sustainability point of view under the following five headings: curriculum, campus, community, collaborative research and culture. All three institutes have a significant track record of grassroots initiatives through the Green Campus programme over the past decade. This event series will build on this good work to act as a catalyst to reframe the proposed Atlantic Technological University as a ‘Civic University’ focusing on climate action and genuine community engagement.
